Description
Pirate Ship at Morro Rock by Floyd Snyder
This shot is taken from the sandbox located in Tideland Park in Morro Bay, California.
Tidelands Park is a favorite destination for both tourists and locals alike. Located at the south end of the Embarcadero, this 2-acre park is used for weddings and children's birthday parties, as well as picnicking or just lounging on the well maintained lawn.
Amenities
The children have nick named the park Pirate Park because of the pirate ship in the sand-play area. The play area also features seal statues, a whale's tail, and a crow's nest giving the park a nautical theme. Picnic areas with barbecues and a spectacular view of Morro Rock and the bay make this park an ideal area for a weekend play date with friends and family.
There are stairs that lead down to the mud flats that offer a hands on look at the wild life that live there. The park also features a fish cleaning station and a side tie dock with access to a pump out for waste and fresh water is available for boaters. The restrooms have showers for transient boaters, and close by is a public launch.
