This old bus was sitting in the parking lot near the public bathrooms and showers in Morro Bay, California.

The bus is equipped with an add-on air-condition unit in the rear, side window, that red box you see. It has a spare tire on the front and another one on the back, along with with a big metal rack loaded with firewood. The owner of this rig was either doing some heavy-duty camping and traveling, or he was living in it.

He obviously just got out of the ocean because the surfboards had just been tied to the top, and I could see where the water had dripped off onto the blacktop.

This Volkswagen surfer van is a throwback to the days of Gidget and Moondoggie, and the only thing that was missing to set the mood was the Beach Boys belting out the hit tune Surfin' Safari!

The surfer vans and VW Campers, along with the Woodies of those days were not just riding, or a car, or a mode of transportation, they were a lifestyle. Apparently, they still are for some people!
