Description
In 1859 William (a.k.a. Waterman) S. Body discovered gold near what is now called Bodie Bluff. Fantastic yields prompted the Standard Company to build this 20-stamp mill in mid-1877. It has been reported that at one time the town boasted of having nearly 70 saloons.
If you visit Bodie, California, the famous ghost town, you will be greeted by many old relics of the towns mining history.
