This looking back down the fairway on hole number nine at the Santa Maria Country Club, Santa Maria, CA.

The five par plays a bit long for the average golfer but quite often fools even the single digit handicap golfer with its elevated green. But it is not just the elevated green that fools you, but the wind that is nearly always blowing in your face buy you can't feel it because you are hitting up out a fairway that is well protected from the wind. But one you put the ball in the air, it loses the protection of the landscape and the trees and his hit with that head wind. And of course, just out of sight from this angle there is a nice big sand trap that a catches even the well hit ball.
