This car was used by Dorothea Lange who was a New Deal Resettlement Administration and FSA-OWI photographer. She was touring California back in The Grapes of Wrath days between 1930 and 1940.
This was the same period in which John Steinbeck was writing Grapes of Wrath which lead to his winning a Nobel Prize in 1962.
She was the photographer that took the very famous, award-winning, photo in Nipomo, California titled Migrant Mother. You will recognize it when you see it. You can find it at FASGallery.com and search on Dorthea Lang.
