Description
Big Anchor Tidelands Park Morro Bay by Floyd Snyder
This shot is taken from the sandbox located in Tideland Park in Morro Bay, California.
Tidelands Park is a favorite destination for both tourists and locals alike. Located at the south end of the Embarcadero, this 2-acre park is used for weddings and children's birthday parties, as well as picnicking or just lounging on the well-maintained lawn.
Amenities
The children have nicknamed the park Pirate Park because of the pirate ship in the sand-play area. The play area also features seal statues, a whale's tail, and a crow's nest giving the park a nautical theme. Picnic areas with barbecues and a spectacular view of Morro Rock and the bay make this park an ideal area for a weekend play date with friends and family.
Some stairs lead down to the mudflats that offer a hands-on look at the wildlife that lives there. The park also features a fish cleaning station and a side tie dock with access to a pump-out for waste and freshwater is available for boaters. The restrooms have showers for transient boaters, and close by is a public launch.
