Eanger Irving Couse (1866-1936). After
formal art training in Chicago, New York, and Paris, Couse gained
a solid reputation in both the United States and France. In 1915
he was the first president of the Taos Society of Artists. His fascination
with the Taos Indians is reflected in his art.
